The Paravelle Ball: Vanguard of Valor was a fantasy event set in a world inspired by the journeys of heroes. Guests experienced an evening where music, performances, and an interactive storyline came together to create an epic immersive atmosphere.
Scions of noble blood, valiant war heroes, and wielders of ancient magic, these heroes are the epitome of heroic lineage. Descendants of kings and queens, they carry the weight of regal legacy into battles, combining martial prowess with mystical might. The Legendary stand as beacons of honor, weaving tales of valor, leadership, and enchantment, as they navigate the intricate tapestry of destiny.
Examples: Aelin Galathynius, Aragorn, Bryce Quinlan, King Arthur
Timeless beings of elemental might and divine lineage, these heroes transcend mortal realms with stories echoing through the ages. From demigods wielding extraordinary strength to elemental beings attuned to primal forces, The Mythic are living legends whose tales shape the very fabric of existence. Prepare to be immersed in a world where the ethereal meets the earthly, and heroes of old embody the enduring spirit of myth and folklore.
Examples: Percy Jackson, Gandalf, Hercules, Freya
Emerging from the shadows, these are the reluctant heroes, the underdogs, and the chosen ones who never sought glory. Their tales unfold quietly, marked by resilience and unexpected valor. The Unsung embody the strength of the overlooked, turning adversity into triumph as they rise to meet destiny's call, proving that sometimes the most extraordinary stories are found in the unlikeliest of places.
Examples: Harry Potter, Frodo Baggins, Feyre Archeron, Joan of Arc
When you walked through the portals to the vanguard of valor, you would never have known anything was amiss. An elegant violinist roamed the floor, a magician played card tricks, there was dancing, drinking and shopping. You met with many other heroes, told stories and uncovered ominous prophecies.
How could you have known a darker force was hiding in plain sight? Just as Thren (The god of gatherings) sealed the hall against violence during the opening ceremony, a fourth faction emerged—the Forsworn.
Wearing enchanted pendants, they bypassed his magic and slipped him a poison that silenced his power. You’d been dancing beside them, talking with them, never suspecting a thing. (Though, in hindsight… that guy hearing voices was a bit ominous.)
You were called to your faction representatives—the ones wearing the crests—and asked how you could help.
Each faction had a unique mission.
Legendary - Gather key shards to unlock the Astral Vault and reclaim Dame Taryn’s sword, Absolution.
Mythic - Discover how the Forsworn bypassed Thren’s protective accord.
Unsung - Uncover the ingredients in Lysandra’s poison to craft an antidote for Thren.
But then chaos ensued. And kept going.
You were more clever (and funny) than we could have ever anticipated. Amongst many of the quests, you gave the Forsworn scrolls of petrification and vertigo (almost knocking one of the Forsworn from the final battle at the last second), stealing an entire treasure chest of vials from the evil alchemist Lysandra (and at one point replacing one with a rat), tried to snatch the magical pendants the Forsworn wore right off their necks and more. It was epic.
But there were some of you that decided you wanted to step away from the light.
You didn't know it, but the Forsworn were there to recruit-to convince you that being a hero wasn't all that they say it is in the stories. And how could we blame you? They were charming, convincing, and charismatic.
Those of you who joined The Forsworn learned a secret phrase 'No Mercy, No Restraint'... You know the rest of it if you were converted.
But that didn't mean that you couldn't party with the best of them. Each faction had a group choreographed dance-even the Forsworn stepped up to show everyone how the villains like to move.
From helping the heroes make new magical pendants so they could fight The Forsworn to helping Dame Taryn reunite with her sword Absolution-you made an impact. The epic dances and swordfights that followed were part of the story you were telling.
The final battle went off in an epic six person duel with fighting styles from across the multiverse-from characters who swung bats, to longswords and cutlass wielding pirates, the showdown was an epic masterpiece.
With the Forsworn defeated, we could end the night in celebration-and with an amazingly close costume contest, where The Goddess of Radiance herself chose the winners-One Best Masc and One Best Femme. They were able to go home with a brand new Saber Smith crafted Dagger.
At Paravelle, your experience is at the heart of everything we do. We’ve carefully reviewed your feedback and want to share the changes we implemented.
